Donate it, recycle it, or let us haul it

A lot of what gets left behind still has life in it. We set aside clean furniture, working appliances, housewares, and clothing for donation whenever we can. Torn mattresses, broken items, and things charities can’t accept get recycled or disposed of properly.

Mattress recycling at the Resource Recovery Facility: 605 Dimeo Lane. Free for households in the City of Santa Cruz, up to 5 mattresses or box springs per visit. Mon–Sat, 7:30am–3:30pm. Wet or bedbug-infested mattresses aren’t accepted free.
Household hazardous waste (paint, chemicals): free drop-off at 605 Dimeo Lane, Saturdays, 7:30am–3:30pm.
Goodwill Central Coast: donation drop-offs around Santa Cruz County. Check their site for the nearest location.
