Moving day is stressful enough. Leave the leftovers to us. Couches you’re not taking, the old mattress, garage boxes, broken appliances: we haul it out so you can hand over the keys on time.

How it works
Send photos or call. Text us pictures of what’s going, and we’ll give you a quote.
Pick a time. We work around your move-out date and lease deadline.
We load it all. Our crew does the lifting from anywhere in the home, garage, or yard.
We donate and recycle what we can, and dispose of the rest responsibly.
Quick sweep-up of the areas we clear.
What happens to your stuff: donation first
A lot of what gets left behind on moving day still has life in it. Before anything goes to the landfill, our crew sets aside items in good shape for local donation centers and recycling.
Usually donatable
Clean furniture in good condition: dressers, tables, chairs, bookshelves
Working small appliances and electronics
Kitchen items, dishes, cookware
Clothing, shoes, linens, and towels
Toys, books, and household decor
Tools and garage items
Usually not donatable
Stained, torn, or worn-out mattresses and upholstered furniture
Broken or water-damaged items
Cribs and car seats (most charities can’t accept them for safety reasons)
Particle-board furniture that won’t survive another move
Items that can’t be donated get recycled whenever possible, and the rest is disposed of properly.
Tip: Want something donated to a specific charity, or given to a friend or neighbor? Tell us when you book, and we’ll set it aside. If you want to drop off donations yourself, set them in one spot and we’ll haul everything else.
Prefer to drop off donations yourself? San Jose options
Habitat for Humanity ReStore – San Jose: furniture, appliances, building materials, and home goods. 1608 Las Plumas Ave, San Jose. Check their site for donation hours and what they accept.
Goodwill of Silicon Valley: clothing, shoes, household goods, and electronics, with drop-off locations around the South Bay.
Bye Bye Mattress: California’s mattress recycling program, which lists free drop-off sites for used mattresses and box springs.
Hours and accepted items change, so call or check each site before you go. Junk Gone isn’t affiliated with these organizations. We share them to help you keep usable items out of the landfill.
Tips to help get your deposit back
Check your lease for the move-out condition requirements.
Book junk removal before your final cleaning, so cleaners have empty rooms.
Take photos after everything is cleared, for your own records.
Don’t leave items for the landlord; many charge removal fees.
