A cluttered home is rarely about laziness. It may follow loss, illness, age or years of overwhelm, and the people involved often feel ashamed. On the Peninsula, many such homes are older, multi-room houses where possessions piled up over decades, and neighbors may not know. We keep things private and calm.

Call or text (408) 310-0246 with a few photos, or just describe the situation. We schedule a plan that works for the homeowner or family: which rooms first, what stays, what can be donated, what goes. A job can be done in one day or spread out over several visits. We wear the right gear, move carefully, and set aside papers, photos and valuables that you flag.

No judgment, just help. Start with a photo.

How we approach a cleanout

  1. A private first conversationCall or text. Share photos if you are comfortable. We ask about access, safety and who makes decisions.
  2. A plan and a free quoteWe agree on stages, privacy and what to protect, then give a quote with upfront pricing.
  3. Sort and haulThe crew works room by room, setting aside what you keep, then loads the rest.

Where the items go

Sorting is where the care happens. Usable clothing, kitchenware and furniture can go to reuse stores such as Last Chance Mercantile on the ReGen Monterey site, though that store turns away mattresses, disassembled furniture and damaged goods. Items damaged by pests or moisture are usually turned away by donation sites.

The rest is loaded and taken to ReGen Monterey on Del Monte Blvd., north of Marina. Hazardous items such as paint, chemicals or medications need separate handling; we cannot haul them, and the dump guide points you to the right drop-off.

What a careful cleanout involves

  • Room-by-room sorting

Keep, donate, discard. We follow your lead on each pile.

  • Heavy debris and trash

Bags, boxes, old newspapers, broken furniture and stuck-together contents.

  • Clear paths and access

Doors, stairs and hallways opened up so people can move safely.

  • Garage, yard and storage

Overgrown outbuildings and storage that have filled alongside the house.

Free quote, discreet crew, sorted your way.

Monterey FAQ: Hoarder Cleanouts

Will neighbors know what is going on?

We keep trucks and conversations low-key. We cannot make a trailer invisible, but we do not discuss your job.

Can the cleanout happen in stages?

Yes. Many Monterey households prefer one room or one area at a time.

What if I want to go through everything myself?

That is fine. Tell us where to start and we work alongside you, or after you.

Do you deal with pests or biohazards?

We cannot do biohazard or specialty cleaning. If the home needs it, we can tell you what to arrange first.

Can a family member handle it from out of town?

Yes. Photos, text and phone calls let you direct the work from a distance, and we send photos after.

How do you protect important papers?

Tell us what to watch for. Papers, photos and valuables you mark are set aside in a container for you.
