Many Monterey homes have been in a family for generations: Old Town cottages, mid-century houses in Casanova Oak Knoll, bungalows near the bay in Del Monte Beach. When someone passes away or moves to care, the house holds decades of belongings, and the people sorting it are grieving and busy.
We work at your pace. Walk us through the rooms, mark what stays with the family, and we take care of the rest. Furniture and housewares in good shape go to donation when possible. The remainder is hauled and recycled. We can work with a family member, an executor, or the company running the estate sale, and we protect floors, doorways and narrow driveways along the way.

Typical estate jobs here
- The family house on a hill
Siblings flying in from out of town have a weekend. They tag what stays and we handle the stair-heavy rest in stages.
- Downsizing before a move to care
A parent is moving from an Old Town home. We clear the rooms they will not take and leave the ones they are still using.
- After the estate sale
A sale in Casanova Oak Knoll is over. Furniture and boxes remain, and we load all of it.
What an estate cleanout can include

Bedroom sets, dining tables, china cabinets and kitchen goods.

Donation, reuse and disposal after an estate cleanout
Reusable items are worth the effort. Last Chance Mercantile at ReGen Monterey, run by the Veterans Transition Center of California, accepts many donated furniture and housewares. It does not take mattresses, particleboard furniture unless excellent, disassembled furniture or damaged goods. Goodwill Central Coast also has donation sites in the county.
Anything that cannot be donated is hauled to ReGen Monterey for recycling or disposal. Papers and personal items you want to keep stay with you. Our Monterey dump guide explains the facility.

Clearing a Monterey home after a loved one passes
Planning a probate cleanout in Monterey often means coordinating with siblings in different cities. For a house cleanout after death in Monterey, we suggest a simple order: family takes the keepsakes, donation pile gets boxed, and we take what is left. Nobody should feel hurried.
You or the executor choose the pace. We stay out of legal questions and focus on the physical work. More about service in town is on the Monterey junk removal page.
Monterey FAQ: Estate Cleanouts
Can you work with an executor who lives far from Monterey?
Yes. Photos, phone and text updates let you direct the work remotely. We can arrange access and send photos when we finish.
How do you handle valuables and papers?
You keep control of them. Tell us what to leave, and we do not touch marked items. Sort personal papers before the crew arrives.
Do you coordinate with estate sale companies?
Yes. We can come before or after the sale, whichever fits the plan.
Will you donate what is usable?
When items are in good shape and a donation site will take them, yes. Last Chance Mercantile is one option on the Peninsula.
What if the house has steep steps or a hillside driveway?
Tell us when you text. We plan the crew and truck position for stairs and tight Monterey streets.
Can you clear only part of the house?
Yes. One room, the garage or the whole property are all workable.
