How does mattress pickup work?

  1. Text us a photo or tell us how many mattresses, what sizes, and where they are.
  2. Get your price before we start.
  3. We carry them out from bedrooms, garages, storage units or the curb, plus the frame, headboard and box spring if you want.
  4. Recycle first. Mattresses in recyclable condition go to a mattress recycling site. Steel springs, foam, fiber and wood can all be recovered.

Can mattresses be recycled in California?

Yes. California runs a statewide mattress recycling program called Bye Bye Mattress, run by the Mattress Recycling Council. Participating drop-off sites must take mattresses from individuals for free, though they can limit how many per vehicle. The catch: they don’t have to accept mattresses that are severely damaged, wet, frozen, soiled or have bed bugs (per the program rules). Those go to the landfill instead.

Mattress removal FAQs

Do you take box springs and bed frames?

Yes. Box springs, metal and wood frames, headboards and bunk beds.

Can you take a mattress with bed bugs?

Tell us before we come. It needs to be sealed in plastic, and recycling sites won’t accept it, so it goes to a landfill. We’ll plan the job around that.

Do I need to bring it outside?

No. We carry it out from wherever it is.

Do you recycle the mattresses you pick up?

When they’re in recyclable condition, yes. Wet, soiled or damaged mattresses can’t be recycled under the state program’s rules and go to a licensed landfill.
