Seaside residents have a useful option. GreenWaste Recovery runs a Bulky Item Reuse Program that lets residents request up to three collections a year at no additional charge, each with limits on volume and item counts. For a single couch set at the curb, it can be the easiest answer.
We step in when it does not fit: more than the program allows, items it will not take, a unit you cannot move to the curb, or a date that is sooner than the next slot. We carry from wherever the piece is, load it and haul it away. Send a photo to (408) 310-0246 and we will tell you honestly which route makes sense.
How the local program works
As GreenWaste describes it, each collection can include up to two cubic yards of reusable materials, up to five e-waste items, and two appliances or bulky items; a refrigerant appliance counts as two. Multi-family complexes can arrange a reuse collection through the property manager. Construction materials, auto parts and hazardous waste are excluded.
