In Los Gatos, garbage, recycling and organics service comes from West Valley Recycles, the Town’s exclusive hauler. That covers the weekly carts. It does not cover the month of garage sorting you just finished, the bags from a bathroom remodel, or the oak and redwood trimmings that stack up on a wooded lot.
We do the one-time haul-off. You point at the pile, we bag and carry as needed, and we load and sweep. A photo and an address are enough for a free quote with upfront pricing, and we will say plainly if something belongs with the hauler instead.
Why the carts cannot take everything
Carts have a fixed size and a list of what they may hold. When the lid will not close, or the stuff is not household garbage at all, the extra has nowhere to go. The Town’s hauler also offers roll-off boxes for large projects, which suits some jobs, and there are spring and fall cleanup events where residents can set out household items.
The other route is self-hauling. There is no landfill inside Los Gatos, so that means driving to San Jose, where the Town lists Guadalupe Landfill. Or you can have us take it away, with the loading and sweeping included.
