Salinas offers a free bulky pickup once a year, arranged through Republic Services. If your items fit, use it. Items are set in the street against the curb, and the program covers up to about two cubic yards. Loose, boxed or bagged trash, carpet, construction materials and wood are not included.
We are the next step when the program does not fit: you have already used your pickup, you have more than two cubic yards, the piece is upstairs or in the garage, or it is not allowed. We come to the room, carry it out and load it. Free quote, upfront pricing.
Free city pickup and other local options
The city program is arranged by calling Republic Services, and the Salinas Valley Solid Waste Authority notes that residents may also have on-call pickup options from their hauler, annual cleanup events, and self-haul to local facilities. Reusable pieces can be donated.
If you prefer to self-haul, Madison Lane and Johnson Canyon Landfill take bulky waste, and the Madison Lane recycling center takes mattresses. We handle the lifting, loading and driving for you.
